We all know that the 'special' jersey or uniform of a team can have a great positive influence on a team. It can bring everyone together, and make the team feel as if they are part of history. This ownership in the school, team and themselves can be a bit much for an opponent to overcome.
Or it can become a trite played-out parody of itself. (Notre Dame, green jerseys anyone?) So when rumours were swirling about Clemson going with an all-purple strip against Georgia Tech on Saturday, its no surprise that there were a few skeptics. With nine of the teams meetings since '96 decided by less than a TD many were cautious as they didn't want the all-purple to go the way of the buffalo; and the Irish's green jersey.
The last time the Tigers wore an all-purple get up wasn't even in the 'modern era' of football. THIS truly is unique. Unlike a green jersey when you play USC.
