So its not even Thanksgiving yet, and the Hurricanes season is flushed down the toilet. Kind of a trend I've noticed unfortunately under coach Randy Shannon. First it was a bummer loss at Ohio State where Jacory Harris managed to throw four picks. Then an embarrasing blowout loss against Florida State on ESPN where the 'Canes looked downright disinterested, another trend. Finally (or maybe not the last loss) a squeaker against a Virginia club we should handle on our worst days. Granted, Harris was hurt badly and had to leave the game, but still another disappointing effort all-around. At this point I really do think it's time for a change at Coral Gables and since a new A.D is unlikely, it seems like a coaching change is in order. Far too often under Randy Shannons watch, the Hurricanes look unprepared, uninspired and he himself often looks flat out confused on the sidelines. For a program that wrote the book on swagger, bragadocia, and downright winning in the late 80's and early 90's; Miami looks like a program forgotten. And that's not right. College football needs Miami. They need the smoke, the chest bumping, and the south Florida trophy-winning. It's time for a change once again.
The nonsensical, and sometimes poignant thoughts of an average sports nut, jaded by the world.
